List of CD Emulation Software

For DOS

File Name Size Description
bcd1_386.zip Buldozer's CD faker v1.386 9KB This handy utility for DOS/Win3/Win95 will allow you to create up to 9 different virtual CD-ROM drives. To use, first copy files off the CD-ROM to a folder on the computer. Then use subst to create a drive letter out of a folder where CD-ROM files reside, eg. subst D: C:\C&C-CD. Then run bcd against that drive letter as such: bcd D: /n:1 /l1:“GDI” Works with at least the following CD-ROM titles: Command & Conquer, Fade to Black.
fakecd10.zip Fake-CD v1.0 8KB This is another utility to make a virtual CD-ROM drive. It is easier to use, but some games will still see that it isn't a real CD drive. Invoke with: fakecd c:\PROG-CD /l:d, where D is the drive letter you want to assign for the CD-ROM. Works with at least the following CD-ROM titles: “Mortal Kombat II”, “Dark Forces”, “Virtual Pool” and “Legend of Kyrandia I and III”.
